How long should I keep my carbon filters out?

    How long should I keep them out for during the beggining of my cycle.

    You can leave them out until the cycle is over. When it is, do a partial water change and put them back in. There's no one right to do it, but that's what I did.

    Id Suggest re introducing the carbon when the tank is about 3 months of age
    has finished cycling and you are about to start making purchases of additional live stock

    Thanks for the input guys.

    I also noticed that soem of the green hair algae has begun to form. Should I just let it be or should I take steps towerds reducing it?

    I assume it is from incresed nitrate and nitrite levels.

    you should have your lights OUT for the cycle. this should prevent algae growth
