What I like to hear! I have had the last one on hold at LFS. He doesnt seem very colorful or should I say really any color to him.. Im guessing he is just a basic pistol since he is only 20. Would he even pair with my watchman yet?? the watchman is pretty small still... The pistol may actually be almost bigger then him or close to same size at the moment.

Without pictures I can only guess that it's a Tiger Pistol.

They will pair when they find each other but IME big Tigers make snacks out of small gobies. I had a 1.5" Tiger that would pair with a goby for a while and then for some reason eat it. I watched it kill and eat 2 of three and assume that the third suffered the same fate.
The only successful pairing I had was between it and a Diamond Watchman. But the fish was nearly as big as the shrimp when I added it.
The best of luck to you though. The symbiotic relationship is a very cool event in any tank.

I guess ill have to do some research to what it is. I know its not a tiger.. this thing has pretty much no markings on it..

Actually just found another LFS that has a few candy canes and tigers in so im gonna check those out.. Would rather have something with a lil color and that i know what it is.

Candy Cane's stay small... Tiger's get big (mine's almost 3 inches about) and as such the bigger Tiger's have potential to do harm to small fish... mine hasn't yet though.

I think it's safe to say you can add a pistol shrimp without a fatality, tiger shrimp are nice but I think randals are a bit nicer but that's just my personal prefference
