I just put on my MH fixture over the 29g and i am going to acclimate with low hours and increase until my desired time..I normally ran my PC fixture from about 10am-6pm..And then actinics came on for about 45 and then it shut off.

I come home from school at 3pm and if i turned on the lights and left them on until 9:30pm or so and then did actincs for 30 mins and then moonlights come on, would that be okay?

I would cut your photo period in half from what it used to be and increase that time once a week until you get back to your desired time.

Usually with a MH, 6 hours or so is sufficient if you have actinics, it doesn't necessarily hurt to have more, but could depending on your corals. If your corals seem to be deflating at a certain time, that is usually a sign they've had enough light. Then you may want to cut back, or you are just wasting electricity and possibly stressing the corals. I'd have to check, but IIRC, I think I have mine set for about 7hrs right now. My supplemental lights are on for about 12hrs though.

My actinics are on short of 12 I think - the halide is down to 8 hours. I did have the halide on for 10 when I did not have actinics.

You are slowly bringing it up to 7 hours right? I know you just got that light. You dont want white corals :)

Yeah, my fixture is a BEAST! it has a 150w 10k halide, 4 24w T5HO actinics and 6 white leds and 6 blue leds. So
