How long to run MH?

    I am going to run it for 4 hours this week..4.5 next week..5 hours week after that..Is that good? or could i add one hour every week?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Just wanted to add that this fixture is right on top of the tank almost, not much distance from the corals and the corals are soft and lps. Also it takes days or longer to see photo shock damage it does not show up for awhile and by the time you notice it, it is too late.

    Sounds good at adding 30 min a week for the first 2 weeks to me. Then see where you stand. Metal halide lighting is addictive and wonderful to look at but the corals need to adjust their zooxanthellae and they seem to do so much slower then we would like.

    Uhg..dang corals!! and yeah it is! I just lay in my bed and watch it for a while, i love the shimmer on it!
