Last wednesday night I picked up couple of peppermint shrimp for my 55. Acclimated them over the course of about 2 hours and put them in the tank, they hid out of course. On sat. morning I noticed two shrimp molts figured that explained the hiding, now they are still both together in the same cave in the tank and I have yet to see them move. I am unfamilier with shrimp and do not know if this is normal behavior for them. Just wanted to get some quick insight on if they are maybe just acclimating or if they are hanging out together on a date or what :) They don't join in eating time none of the fish are bugging them that I've seen they just sit on the side of a rock together unless I've got my hand in the tank (yesterday was cleaning day) then they move behind the rock and wait till I'm out of the tank and come sit in their cave again :-/

    Thanks for any input guys.

Completely normal. It ill take a long time if ever for them to bother coming out during light hours. I had one for a year and never saw it unless the lights were off.

they are pretty nocturnal. every now and then ours will come out when we are feeding and sometimes to clean our fingers. still very cool. we have 2 skunk cleaner shrimp and they are very social.

They came out and shared a bit of squid and emerald entree tonight with the the rest of the Tank Gang ;D then one of them proceeded to try to start a fight with one of my hermits. After a bit of a squabble the shrimp is hiding again and the hermit is strutting about the tank as if he just beat up a shark instead of a shrimp. BUT at least they are getting used to the tank and moving about. Thanks again for the input guys...

Yep its all normal. I hardly ever see my peppermint shrimps. They rarely come out during the day so I only see them when they managed to get themselves in the over flow and I have to fish them out in the morning.
