    To echo what was said...

    I don't have a top so I can feed the fish while leaving the light on.

    But I do have to take the light off to direct feed my anemone or do any sort of maintenance.

    I cant take mine off for to long as I have this jawfish who loves to jump when he's lookin for a new spot to burrow .
    edit- I am going to hang my light though to solve my issue .

    Depends of the fixture and what type/brand is it a full fixture ot a retro set up ?
