hey, i was thinking on adding two more clowns to my tank but idk if this is a good idea. would it be ok if i get another pair?

i have two black and white type of clownfish on my 150G tank.. Yesterday i saw this awesome looking clownfish at my LFS.. it was red with 3 white stripes.. it was pretty awesome looking. PS anyone knows what this clownfish is called?

so im wondering now if maybe i could add a pair of this to my tank? or any other clownfish for that matter?

um i know generally for smaller tanks your only allowed 2 clowns per tank but im not sure if its ok for you seeing as your tank is 150g. I'd say it would be ok because they all have plenty of room.

Also the clownfish ID your after is the maroon clownfish I believe Maroon Clownfish

Be careful, maroon clowns are very nasty fish. they can and usually will bite you, or kill and or bite your other fish.

I had enough of my old maroon putting big bite marks on the side of my sailfin tang, and killing a couple fish, notably occellaris clowns. I finally caught her and put her in the sump.

really? darn.. i was hoping they would be more passive.. and considering the clownfish how about adding just a regular true percula or a naked clown? or some weird version of the percula clowns?

The less aggressive types of clowns are likely able to go in such a large tank as 2 pairs. Occelaris and true percs are the least aggressive, as I understand it, so those are probably your best bet for another clown pair.

I would say skunk clowns are far less aggro than percs or ocellaris are.

The pink skunk is a nice no aggressive clown but not the best looking. I would like to get some myself though. The maroons are the most beautiful IMO but also the most aggressive as stated above.
Also, have a look at the gold stripe maroon clown. Also very nice.
In a 150g you can put in another pair of percs and be moderately safe. I've seen tanks with 3 pairs or more with no major fighting amongst them.
