    How many fish?

    I have a 29g with:
    1 Maroon Clown
    1 Pink Spotted Goby
    1 Bengia Cardinal
    1 Neon Dotty Back
    2 Peppermint Shrimp
    1 Camel Shrimp
    1 Pistol Shrimp
    A lot of snails
    A lot of Hermit Crabs
1 Feather Duster Cluster of about 10 mini's
    1 Larger Feather duster
    1 Flame Scallop
Loads of Micro Fauna crawling around

I feel like I have too many fish in here after reading this thread, but it has been running with this kinda of bio load for awhile. The tank is three years old and the only time I lost animals was when I went to Thailand for a month. I feel like most of the invert's have a neutral or near to neutral effect on the tank because they just run around cleaning up. What do other people think?

Yep, only fish count as bioload; the rest are your clean-up crew, feeding on leftover food and detritus, and absorbing dissolved organics. FTR, I have 4 fish- domino, three-stripe, and yellowtail damsels and a cleaner wrasse in a 20g along with corals and inverts. I also have no sump or skimmer, and I do not have nutrient or algae problems.

Wow this is an old thread. As long as your filter and crew are keeping up with the mess I think your good. In my 37 gallon I have 1 domino damsel that will be leaving as soon as I can catch him. Id like to replace him with either a small wrasse or a blennie, maybe both.

Talk about digging up the graveyard!! (The previous post date?)

And a good general rule is: 1 fish/per 10g water for SW fish.

    Welcome to 3reef!
