How many hours of light?

    My light cycle for 14gal Biocube:
    4pm Actinics on
    6pm Daylights on
    1:30am Daylights off
    3am Actinics off

    11 hours off actincs
    7.5 hous off Daylight

    11:30am-Halide on
    7:30pm-Halide off
    8pm-acnics off, moonlights on, fuge lights on

    so am i running my actincs too long? or does it really matter? this is for my tank without the GHA, by the way! LOL

    It's mostly personal preference. You should run your lights between 8 and 12 hours. If your viewing time lines up with how long your lights are on than it's a good schedule. I run mine reduced because money is tight and halides aren't cheap to run.
