    I have a 75 gallon tank with:
    an engineer goby (10 in)
    a tomini tang (5 in)
a black and white clownfish (3 in)
    a sailfin blenny (4 in)
I posted up how big they will get, they are mostly a lot smaller now.
I know the rule is like 4-5 gallons for every inch, but surely since the engineer goby is like pencil thin and doesnt create as much waste that same rule doesnt apply? If you guys know I would appreciate it if you would put it up here. If I have enough room for some other fish, what are some suggestions? I was kind of thinking some chromis, but I heard you needed like 6 of them. Oh well Thank you all for helpin me out
(also the tank is 2 years old and algae free if that helps)

i think you could add another fish! The only problem ya have, is those fish have their territories set up, so ya may have issues with a new fish! I think chromis are fun, i always heard just to keep them in odd numbered sets!

maybe something like a little angel, bicolor, flame, coral beauty should be ok!

you think just one fish? what about maybe another clown and a goby.
How do inverts fit into the gallon rule again?

Inch per gallon rule doesn't apply to saltwater tanks. It's all dependent on aggressiveness, territories, and habits of the fish. Also, thin fish can create as much or more waste as non-thin fish.

Large groups of chromis will bully each other to death until there's just one or a pair (usually just one). Maybe add one chromis or a pajama cardinal & see how that goes with what's already in there.

Edit after seeing your last post: Definitely not another bottom dwelling goby, the engineer will get very large & will include the entire bottom of the tank as its territory (unless you get a perching goby like a clown goby). Another clown might not be a bad idea, but I don't do clowns so can't really comment with any experience on that. You may need more sand for the engineer goby.

inverts play a small role in the gallon rule, i don't really count them excpet for my huge turbos!

Another clown and goby may be ok! Just remember, the existing clowns and goby's have staked their claim, and may get aggressive towards smilar species! i'd get a bigger clown than what you have! Check out the angels on LA! would add some color!
