They used to take our passes away until FT Lewis banned it all together and our NCOIC was never happen to show up. :) I think to solve the issue we all should have to go back to horse and buggy ;)

I like the eating and driving illegal one. That is some of the most dangerous stuff out there. See people trying to dig into their bag of food while holding their whopper and trying to eat fries at the same time. Accident waiting to happen.

They tried to make it a ticketable offence where i live now but could enforce it because it was only certin police officers in the downtown area that could write tickets for it, so they threw the law out.

Ya, that could be the first offense and the second is you get to clean up behind one for a month.

That would never be an issue here. We need money too bad because the stars don't pay their taxes.

But that's actually kind of sad that they were deciding amongst themselves what laws they should enforce and what they shouldn't. That kind of decision making shouldn't be in any cops hands ever.

I think everyone who do minor offenses should have to do some nasty community work. Assignments should be selected from episodes of the show "Dirty Jobs".

I have to admit that I used to be a texting and driving offender until I had a couple of close calls. Its just not worth it no matter how you slice it. Some people say they can do it just fine, and I agree, like drink driving I can do it just fine until something happens. Normal driving doesn't take very much concentration, but as soon as something goes wrong it takes a lot. Before texting their was nothing urgent enough to need it and that hasn't changed. I've got several friends who even say they will risk a wreck to text, and risking injury our death to themselves is their business, but when a person makes any decision in a car they should be thinking about whether it's worth killing the little kids in the car next to them.

I agree with all the proposals in this thread. It should be illegal to do anything but drive when driving and punishment should be swift for offenders caught before they kill someone, not after.
