Generally speaking, how many PAR 30 LED's would I need to light a sps tank at 60"x18"x24" deep?
Got 3 of em today and I really love em. Thinking about going down this route.
What's the wattage on each PAR 30?
    5 LED PAR30 Bulb
I also like the evolution 200watt LED fixture. Was planning on using maybe two of these? Evolution LED Light 200w 3G [14K] : REEFKOI CORALS, SPS, LPS, Zoanthids
Or a couple of the PAR 30 bulbs.
    Whichever option works out better.
Leaning more toward the Evolution Fixtures, mainly because there are built in fans.
But seeing that I have 3 PAR 30 bulbs already, I could just probably add to these:confused:

Keep in mind the PAR3X lamps will cover a 12"x12" decently well. The number of PAR3X will depend on the length of your tank and your aquascape. If you are planning to put this over a 125g, you will need quite a few more!

For a depth of 24", I'd recommend the more narrow optic to give you better penetration--for example, using our BoostLED Reef Lamps, I'd recommend going with the 40 degree optics. Not sure which one Rapid has but opt for the more narrow ones especially if you have SPS on the sand bed.

Other option would be going the fixture route which in my opinion for a 125g is the better route. Unless of course, you have two piles of rock and only want to light up those areas, then the PAR3X would be the more cost-effective choice.

Well, the tank is a 125g. and I do have two main piles of rock on either side of the aquarium. I ordered the 3 bulbs with 40 degree optics.
I only have 3 for now but if I only need 6-9 more bulbs then, this would be perfect for me.
I love the fixtures but I dont like the cost too much::)

Great, but how many bulbs would be ideal?

I'd go with 3-4 on each side and about 2 in the middle. For both sides, use a mixture of PAR3X lamps with narrow and wider angle optics--this will allow you get better light coverage as well as not burn the corals that you will higher up on the rocks.

Wow. Nice. Thanks for the info dude, it's very much appreciated.
I'm planning on using 3 on either side for now and 2 in the centre. Will prob just buy 2 extras just in case I need more.
As you could see, I don't have much corals right now.
Everything was going downhill for a couple months. Most died, some sold. Im hoping to come back pretty much like a pro with these new lights.
And KEVIN, if you see this, thanks for making me want to spend more money lol;)
