So I have been looking for a final fish to get for a while now... I was deciding between a longnose hawkfish or a YWG ,but I have really wanted a mandarin dragonet from the start...and I know I can only put one more fish in. My tank has been running for about 10 months now and I have tons of pods. Yes...I did do my research...tons is not enough. I have a 34 gallon cube with a pair of clowns and a Royal Gramma. I really want to skyrocket my pod population so I could keep a dragonet. How do I do it? How long will it take? Can it be done? Thanks

You would most likely need a refugium that is close to the same size as your tank.

    :(
Is there any way to "supplement" the pods by adding pods once a week? I would do it....or would that not be enough?

Probably not without a refuge area for the pods. If you can get some rubble, a pretty large amount, and put it in a mesh bag in the DT it might keep you stocked with pods.

Simple answer, but not the easiest thing to do nor always successful, train the Dragonet to eat frozen.

Check out this site for more info, the man who wrote this has done it several times.

Hmmmm... Kind of confused. Why would putting rubble rock in a mesh bag make the pod population go higher? Wouldnt they just crawl out?

Dont really want to take the risk of trying to train it.....I would rather just have some way to get enough pods

Yes but they would not get eaten before reproducing.

Ohhhhhh....good point. So I get the rubble rock put it in mesh for a while (how long?) Then take the mesh and rock out. Put in Mandarin Dragonet...then could I just put that algae that they live on in every week? (Forgot what that is called)
Thanks so much for your help!
