So the fiancé did her daily fly-by inspection of the build as I was drilling to mount a second power strip and after looking behind the stand made the comment, “holy cow those are a lot of wires back there! How many plugs do you need for a fish tank??” I smiled and without delay jumped at the opportunity to tell someone ALL ABOUT my progress. I stuck my head inside the cabinet, started pointing and talking only to notice she had walked away by the time I identified the third plug.

I chuckled to myself and got back to work. As I was tinkering with my return pump’s flow I got to thinking—while two power strips sounded like a lot at first, I’m sure others easily put that to shame!!

So I thought this might be kind of fun, how many plugs do y’all need???

I run 2 power strips, 1- 10 plug strip, and 1-8 plug. All my sockets on the 8 plug is taken, but only 5 I think on my 10 plug are used, so plenty of space for more =p.
I have 4 wall outlets near my tank though. I also run my return pump right from the socket (helps to have its own outlet since if there's an issue I want the sump turned off and if I'm not there its easier for them to identify, really need to start creating labels.) and my ip webcam is also running from an outlet.

    Itemizing it....

    1 - Return pump
    2 - Heater #1
    3 - Heater #2(sump)
4 - BackUp Heater(in case any of the others fail)
    5 - Koralia
    6 - Koralia #2
    7 - ATO pump
8 - ATO powerhead to keep the res moving.
    9 - ATO system
10 - HOB Carbon Filter (not in use)
    11 - Canister Filter
    12 - Nitrate Filter pump
    13 - UV Pump
    14 - UV Lamp
    15 - Lighting
    16 - IP camera
    17 - Ground Wire

Yes I no longer use a skimmer, nitrate filter took it's place. Think that is about it.
