    Hi dusty

    I have a 4ft FOWLR
I have 4 different sources of water movement in mine
    2 x K clones - rated at 3000 LPH (750 US gallons)
2 x Fluval cannisters 1200 LPH or 400 US gallons used for carbon , Phosgaurd and the other has Purigen in (no sump)

thus I have 2300 gallons of turnover in a 60 gallon tank thus even alllowing for restriction from the cannisters caused by the media inside - I must have at least 30 x tank volume in water movement per hour

I would not want any individual power head with that much capacity though, so several smaller ones are better than 1 larger one IMO
