Ummm, are you really asking how many tangs SHOULD you keep, or how many COULD you keep? I don't feel there is a minimum on tangs. Some people don't keep any...
    How long is the tank?

I love tangs to but I can only have one. sigh...

I have a Chevron, a bristletooth tang, and it is great at eating nuisance algaes and diatoms..It cleans the sand, pick up bites and spits it out clean ;D
