How many watt's per gallon is good to have good growth of SPS and LPS?

I just bought a new light fixture and it is 716 Watt's. I have a 72 Gallon tank. I am calculating 10 watts per gallon. My old PC setup was 260 watt's and calculated 3.6 watt's per gallon. Is this going to be good?

My new fixture will have 4 54W T5 460 actinic and 2 250W 15K metal halides. Do you think should change out 2 for the T5's for another spectrum? On the HQI lights should i change to 10K for better growth?

You should be able fry whatever you want in there. Watts per gallon was measured for T NO and VHO bulbs.

That is a lot of light. You will need to provide LPS and softies shade for them to keep their colors.

At least 8" for the MH, the T5 can lower id the setup allows.
