    I found an old 30 gal tank in my attic i was wondering how many fish can i fit in it?

    Well the rule of thumb is for saltwater about an inch of fish per 10 gallons and freshwater about an inch of fish per gallon.

    So if you went saltwater I wouldn't put anymore than 2 or 3 smaller fish in it. With freshwater 15 or 20 would be your max.

    Also these are very loose rules of thumbs.

    im trying to stay away from the too small fish.my 75 has clownfish and damsels.so im trying to stay away from them.

    Well bigger fish need more swimming room so it wouldn't be fair to them. Even if all you had was a single Yellow Tang in a 30 gallon tank, and nothing else, that still wouldn't suit it well.

    Suggestions: 6 Line Wrasse, Red Firefish (jumpers, have a lid), Royal Gramma Basslet, Jawfish, Pseudochromis, Cardinals (not all these fish together of course). Those are just some examples of some smaller fish that you could have a couple of in that size tank easily.

    maybe its time to switch fish into different tanks ;D.move th clown fish into a new spot.
