How much algae do you want?

    How much algae would you normally want in your tank if you have algae eating fish and crew? Do you strive for zero green algae? or let some grow a little so they have some algae food?

    My tank doesn't grow anything but coralline, and my algae eaters have learned to like seaweed and flake. Everyone seems fat and happy!

    depends on your fish, tank setup etc... if you had a lawnmower blenny that didn't take prepared foods or even romaine, then you are going to want some GHA

    You can probably keep whatever herbivorous fish you are thinking of with some seaweed clips like previously mentioned. An LFS will probably allow you to check the fish first.

    I dont get much either other than coraline. I'll buy ogo from time to time.

    I also put in some new rock that was covered in algae, the CUC and fish cleaned it off within a few days...

    Probably a dumb question....I was just wandering.. I know some people want it as I've seen people giving away hair algae on the local board.
