Hello I have a question about how much circulation is to much.

I have a 55 gallon tank. i have a Cascade 1000 Canister Filter which pumps up to 100 gallons. I also have Penguin 350 Bio-Wheel Power Filter which pumps up to 75 gallons.

I just bought a SunSun 3200GPH WAVE MAKER FISH PUMP AQUARIUM TANK POWERHEAD the max output is 360 Gallons.

My question is that powerhead wave maker too powerful for my tank? my anemones like seem to like it but my Giant Cup Mushroom Corals. Aren't as big as they were. This also could be just because I just switched tanks.

    Any Advice??

I think your ok. Mushrooms like low flow though so that prolly why its not as full.

I have a Vortech MP40 on 3/4 and a 1400 hydor along with a return pump and I keep softies/SPS/Fish and nems, They are prolly just getting used to it and as long as its not blasting right on them you should be okay. Also welcome to 3reef :)

I agree, it's unlikely that it's too much flow. Think about the currents that come into. Reef from the open ocean, they're crazy strong in some cases. If the mushrooms seem affected by the flow, try moving them, or change the flow direction, so the mushrooms aren't impacted a much. With soft corals, like mushrooms, ambient flow should be fine. It's been years since I've kept soft corals, but I never really blasted them with flow like I do some of SPS.
