hey everybody, i know nothing about coral other than i want some of it in my nano tank so that it can host the clowns i want to get, this is a new project and i have nothing right now, but i hear that the best thing to do with a reef tank is to plan plan plan and take it slow, so thats what im trying to do, so anyway back to the coral, can a nano support it with minimal difficulties? what exactly does the coral do? im sry to ask such a newb question, but i want to learn everything and i know next to nothing
    thanks in advance

When I had my nano up and running to its fullest I had:
Star Polyps- they spread but not as much as I thought they would.
Mushrooms- I would buy groups of them or just single ones to place where you please
Bubble Coral- mine did really well in my nano
Feather Duster- technically its a worm but that was my center piece
Zoas- Small frags work perfect in nano's, easy to place and spread pretty quickly.

This is just what I had setup in mine. It was a 12g nano and everything lasted well over a year and would have last longer except I went out of town, didn't turn a/c on the apartment, massive heat wave and completely fried everything in my tank. The temp was well over 100 when I got home. It was devasting.

Just be careful with nanos, not much room for error.
    Good Luck!

Depends on corals and other inhabitants... I had a bta that stung a bunch of my leather.. Corals don't put off any of hardly any bio load... But the do suck nutrients out of the water...

you can replenish the nutrients with additive or regular water changes, not all that difficult
