how much does your LFS charge you for your RO/DI water and do they offer it mixed with salt? I know someones gonna yell but i have always use tap ::) but ive always wanted to use RO water but didnt want to pay for it. But i know i should start using it and wanted to see what other LFS charge you. i think mine is .50cents a gallon or 2 bucks for 5 gallons.

Mine is free from the lfs. But its a good idea for them to give it away for free. I always go there to get it but I always walk out missing 80 bucks out of my pocket. They give you extra time to browse while they fill ur bucket lol smart buisness plan imo

Nothing comes close to having your own RO/DI unit and making your own water. That way you have ultimate control over its quality and I have done many cost comparisons and they all come out with the cost of RO/DI at less than 5 cents a gallon when you make your own. That nickle includes the water and sewer rates at peak times of the year, taxes and tariffs and the cost of replacement filters and resins all inclusive.

When purchasing water you really need to factor in your gas, vehicle wear and your time as it has value too. Use the IRS standard of 50 cents a mile and it adds up pretty quickly.

I wouldn't give up my RO/DI for anything and at less than $150 complete for a 90 GPD system you can't go wrong. You can even use it for RO drinking water which makes the purchase even easier to justify. No more cases of plastic throw away bottles, fill your own.

I pay a couple cents per gallon by making my own; something like 5c.

I make my own too. I was spending about $8 per month on RO/DI. If I was getting Saltwater at first it was double that amount. I bought my own unit and now there's not going back.
None of my LFS give the water (RO/DI or saltwater) for free... ever!
