Recently I won a bid at coralpennyauctions.com and won a Koralia 750 gph.

I already have a 240 in my biocube. If I can't use it in my biocube I'll just save it for my next tank.

    1) Would both be too much?
    A) If yes, you you leave the 240, or exchange it fo the 750?
    B) If no, should they work against each other, in the same direction or should the 750 be muffled slightly?

What if the 750 were put on a timer just to come on for a few hours per day to give the water some extra daily agitation?

You could put the 750 in the tank along with the 240. Just pay attention to how your coral and sand reacts and decide from there if you need to remove the 240. I would put the 750 so it is aimed to make the longest run before it hits the tank walls. I think diagonally is what you should do with it. Let the return flow and the 240 interrupt the 750 flow.

damn thing is massive, I didn't realize the size difference between the models.

I think I can pull off the cross flow if I put the750 in the back left, flowing to front right and the 240 back right to front left.

I put it in just to see the flow difference and it seems to be irritating everything except my six line, he looks like a surfer at big sur.

The 750 is a hog! I have a 750 and a 425 in a 40 breeder and it creates a ton of flow. It must be ridiculous in a biocube :).

In my 29g I have 3 of the Koralia 425s. My return pump will be 450gph. So I will have about 85X turnover, but that's for sps corals. With my 37 lbs of rock, the 29g tank is more like 21g of water.

I have all 3 PHs towards the surface of the water right now and I can still see sand slowly moving across the bottom.

This is always a tricky question because in the wild the flow over a reef would be much greater than 750 gph at certain times and much less at certain times. Like others have said, see how everything reacts and make sure it doesn't kick up too much substrate.

OK, I installed it in the opposite corner as my existing 240 &stock return all of my corals closed up a little but there may be an adjustment period. I'll keep an eye and see how they react. I'm getting some great surface agitation though as it's aimed up toward the surface more than anything.

some sand is moving but I think that may calm once the current patterns are in place for a while.

Sounds good. I agree, it is most likely just an adjustment period for the corals, getting used to the difference in water movement.
