1 -1.5 pounds per gallon. I have around 30 pounds in my display tank and another 10-15 in my sump

I was gonna say double the gallons and go with that amount. If you need more then get more. Don't get all big pieces either, mix it up, remember you want surface area for stuff to grow on.:)

at least pound and a half per gallon. doesn't all need to be live, can save alot of $ and buy plain ole base rock and then top it off with the real mcoy. would take longer to seed the base rock though. if you have a sump or refugium you can put some in there, so display tank want be so cluttered.

I'm not sure you can ever have too much live rock, until it starts to affect the room your fish have to swim :)

GL! Most people cheap out because of the price of LR - I know I did. But to be honest, this is an expensive hobby and it's good you've found the place to be, just be thankful it's 30 lbs and not 200 .... yet ;)

When we started out we bought about 24lbs of LR our tank is 26gal and it is also taller then wide, we have that in common.. but a good idea is like everyone else said 1-1.5lb per gal.. You can always add later..;)
