    Hi All,

I have a 30 Gal hex tank that's about 24 inches tall. Would like to be able to keep just about any type of coral or clam. Question I have is whether a 175 watt light is sufficient or should I go with a 250 watt? Would the 250 watt be overkill?

I would persaonally go with either a 150 or 250 double ended bulb (personal opinion a 14K). If you want to be able to keep anything anywhere in the tank got with a 250 but be aware you may end up with heat issues you will not be able to control. a 150 will give you alot of versitility but alot less heat to deal with
