whoa. that cost you 2300? what did you buy 2 vortech's? i bought 140 lbs of live rock but talked the guy down to 2 bucks a pound, if your buying more than a hundred pounds or so they'll usually cut you a deal. I bought the same stuff and it cost me about 400 dollars for rock, sand, inverts and chaeto.

Oh and i kept a tally kinda, i use the big als points, ive accumulated about 6000 of those, I would say im in about 5000 into this hobby, started almost a year ago. My Biggest lesson was do it right the first time, being cheap really does bite you in the butt.

Same here! I was gloating about hitting the 2k mark, until my girlfriend looked at my tank and said, "that's what you spent 2k on??". I got angry and stopped counting. Bah, she's just jealous :p

The most I have ever spent wad $500 on a single coral, second was $200. It was a quarter sized piece of the original Tyree watermelon chalice. Of course I later lost it to a $10 copperband butterfly that ran out of aptasia and took a liking to chalices. I never really bought any other high dollar corals (I usually wiould just trade) but went through a lot in fish. Back in the day I starved a lot of fish to death for fear of loosing my sps colors due to high nutrients.

If I added up all of my purchases over the years, I could easily buy a car. A very expensive car.

$70 for a Flame Angel @ the LFS. Never bought fish online.

When it comes to supplies, oh ya they can add up fast :-X. My biggest single order purchase was about $1,600 when I bought my tank, stand, and hood.
