Your fish and corals need a stable enviroment. Doing water changes daily isnt very stable. You will end up doing more harm then good.

How can it be worse than disrupting it 1x a week with a large removal and replacement of water ? Please explain , I would think smaller water doses/changes would be far more benificial ? Since you are removing the wastes and DOC daily and slowly replacing the fresh water , it would more emulate the ocean in tides washing in and out ...

There is no way you can "emulate" the ocean. We're dealing with a little glass box where conditions can change in the drop of a hat without us knowing. The ocean is a lot more stable then you think. Its always constant unless humans screw something up. Theres natural balance in the ocean, not in our tanks Thats why we need to supplement with equipment on occasions. If you have enough DOC's that warrant a daily water change, you have other problems going on in your tank. I dont reccommend weekly water changes, every 2-3 weeks is fine if you're not over feeding or over stocked. Skimmers pull out DOM, not DOC, carbon filters will pull out DOCs.

I guess I think diffrently , on that front DOC=DOM IMHHO
I never said you could completely emulate the ocean :) Just getting it closer ... I would think that even going longer with out a water change would be harder than daily , or weekly ...
