    Pot, meet kettle...

Chris, a point Greg has alluded to: blue penetrates the water column very well, therefore it offers more PAR. So it could be said that blue is the most important, but it's not the only important wavelength. That being said, I think you're fine.

Glad to help. Hope others will chime in with their responses as well. Good point, Evolved (albeit your jab is unsubstantiated).

Thanks Evolved, idk where I read/heard someone saying blue didn't do anything at all and white was the only color to drive growth, color and health.

I'm glad I asked and you guys helped out.

The picture above makes me wonder whether coral harvested 25' and under may benefit from full spectrum lighting.

Sorry to make you feel that way. I just don't want people to take as fact marketing mumbo jumbo used to sell a particular fixture. If you notice, not only do I question their findings, I also make an argument as to why I find them flawed. I'm sorry if me disagreeing with your opinion or Orphek's opinion makes me come off as angry. It is only my opinion. If I am wrong, I am willing to debate it and will admit I am wrong if that is the case. In the future I will try to remember no to disagree with your posts and be more of a cheerleader! :clapping: Once again I'm sorry.

I have a very low regard for Orphek as I and others have caught them in their marketing lies. What happens when you question their lies? See for yourself as one of their DIF 100 owners questioned their vastly overhyped PAR readings.....
Are you kidding me? Par readings of 100W DIF - Reef Central Online Community

Since Orphek won't answer his question, do you think I should answer him? Let him know that they are kidding?

Thanks for making that point. I was questioning the level of importance of red. The graph that Orphek shows implies that it is nearly as important as the blue spectrum. I just feel that is not quite true. Once again, this is just my opinion so I don't want to upset anyone.

Thank you gcarroll for the help, the reason I reacted like I did previously is because I didn't want my question to get lost in an argument.

Thanks everyone for the help! :) I will try to do 50/60 combo for a few weeks and see how my corals do. But I really do enjoy the look of a more blue tank.
