Don't you know the only secure location for receipts is in the garbagecan outside the LFS! :p

I've got maybe $800 in it...should be another 2 grand when the 75 is up and running. That's without fish or coral.

I just did a rough tally of just the equipment currently in use and I came up with about $800. No telling the cost with all the livestock in there not to mention all the livestock that has been lost. Equipment has been replaced. Food, salt, testing supplies, cleaning supplies and all that fun stuff adds up to who knows what. And how much I've spent in terms of time, that all depends on how much you charge per hour. It would be a huge number when every last thing is accounted for.

If I could give one pearl of wisdom to any aspiring reefer it would be to DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! I can't find words to express how much easier and cheaper things will be if you can learn from others mistakes. Like I said, my current setup would cost about $800 but I've needlessly spent probably 3x more to get to this point, and I'm sure most folks here would have a similar story.

I have 3 salt tanks, numberous fish and too many corals to count. My hubby has asked me that same question many times over the years and I always tell him the same thing...less than a hundred bucks.

34 tanks on 6 separate systems...all the pumps, lights, heaters, etc. to go with those tanks...10kw generator...etc, etc...all told around $15k invested...that's what happens when you turn the hobby into a business, LOL!

Of coarse that doesn't include what I've spent over the last 20+ years...I could probably buy a small house if I had it all back!
