    Hello, I was wondering how much time i should allow between adding more fish to my system. Its a fairly new system, I was just wondering if there is a good guideline for adding new fish time wise to the tank. How long should I wait between adding more fish and how many fish is safe to add at one time?
    Thanks

    Will also depend on the size of fish. I'd suggest a month at least.

    i play it safe and wait 4 weeks. but it depends on your current bio load and filtration and maturity of your tank.

    make sure you dont over stock your tank. and research each fish prior to purchase to make sure you can care for them and compatible with existing fish. one good rule of thumb for saltwater is 1" inch of fish per 5 gallons.

    so 30g = 6" of fishes (example qty (6) 1" fishes, or qty (3) 2" fishes)
    55g = 12" of fishes

    plus they will grow so try to get fishes 1-2" range each.

    if your doing corals make sure you dont get fishes that are going to nip at them.
    fyi: tangs need bigger tanks at least 4-5' wide min.
