I was curious how much time do we all spend on our tanks on a daily basis. My wife says that is all I ever do. If I am not online reading, researching or just looking at pics, my hand is in the tank re-aquascaping, cleaning and tinkering. I tell her it could be worse, I could turn to alcohol or drugs and completely freak out. She concedes the tank is better, but sometimes I think she is jealous. I figure right now I spend probably about 4 hours a day total. So how much time do you spend on the hobby?

if i worked it out on average over a week, i would be around 30 mins a day doin maintenance and such. i dont really ever change my scape . more because theres pieces that i like and i wouldnt be able to recreate it easily. but i do watch for another half hour at least. befitting my personality, i stick to the kiss method. lol

Probably around 3-5 hours a week on my 120g,... Watching everything in it on the other hand is a whole different story! :cheesy:

Well watching and checking to make sure everything is running properly is part of the equation. Even if you just sit and watch for a while. It all counts.

Wow. Maybe about 3-5 minutes per day cleaning the glass. About 30-45 per day just looking at stuff. About 1 hour every 2-4 weeks for water changes and filter cleaning. And finally maybe 3 - 4 hours per week on internet looking at new stuff that I can't afford.

It's a hobby! It's what I do in my free time, this could be 10 minutes or 10 hours, depending on what day it is and what my schedule is like. If you take into account time on forums and reading....phew, that's a lot.

Minimum 30 minutes per day, between cleaning, feeding, dosing, watching, re-arranging fallen frags, looking for pods (a game I like to play is just to see if I can find any pods while the lights are on), etc.

I spend an hour to an hour and a half every night feeding, scraping the glass and topping off the tanks that do not have auto top-offs. I spend most of the day on Saturday or Sunday Doing water changes, cleaning filters and replacing GFO and Carbon.

I told my wife when she complained about the time and money that I could be sitting in a bar like I used to, she never said another word and actually comes down and sits with me or starts scraping the glass.
