My two seem to devour a good sized sand star about every two weeks.

How can two shrimps eat this much?

Do they really need to be fed this often? Or can they go awhile between meals? :-/

Good question. I always waited about 1-2 weeks after they finished their last star to give them another. I figure that gives them time to molt before they feed again.

Yeah, it takes them roughly a wek or two to consume a star, depending on the size!
As Amcarrig stated, try waiting a week or so between feedings...I don't think that it will effect the Harlequinns!

The population of asterinas has dropped dramatically - don't really think is from the Harley's - they seem to stay put in their staked out area.

I really think something else might be feeding on little bitty ones. Maybe wrasses or mandarin. :-/

Rarely do I see one now.
