1/2 cube per day is fine, although 1/4 may be more appropriate. Your tank is borderline overstocked as you may know. My main concern is the Dragonette and if it will be able to find enough to eat. Hopefully yours accepts live food!

Ya im not getting anything more, the Dragonette has been eating the shrimps, and other crtters along the live rock, guess I will find out. It has grown since I got him like a month ago...

My dad got me the banded coral shrimp ... I think its to big for the tank.. Would feel bad if I brought it back he was so excited to give it to me !

IMOPE, most reef fish don't thrive well long-term on a single source of nutrition. There are several types of frozen mixes. Quality flake and pellet foods are also comprised of multiple food sources. My fish love Ocean Nutrition Formula One and Prime Reef flakes. I feed what they can eat in roughly 2 minutes, once per day.

As for the Coral Banded Shrimp, he should be fine in your tank. I have one in my 20g. I give him a small chunk of raw shrimp or fish once every 2 weeks.

Good point Mr. Bill. I was looking more at the amount than what was being fed. As you said, variety is key! In fact I would say quality flake food would be better than just Mysis. But at least get a couple different frozen, quality pellet (I like New Life Spectrum), and quality flake (Formula One or Prime Reef).

FWIW, anatomically speaking, the eye size of a fish is proportional to the size of their stomachs, so ideally, most fish should get about that much food in a feeding.

I have never heard that before. Good info. It really puts into perspective how much we should be feeding our fish.

I read that in a study that was done by the Steinhart Aquarium, IIRC, and I believe they may mention it in their "what we feed our fishes" blurb as well, but oddly enuff, it's what we have been suggesting to folks for quite some time in terms of food item size for preds.
