i have a porcupine puffer and i feed him freeze dried jumbo shrimp once a day, but anytime i walk up to the tank he gets excited and swims around like a little puppy dog, should i feed him more?

That's just a natural response. Fish are always looking for food. Keep in mind that in the wild, they may not eat everyday and can go for weeks without food if necessary. He is just anticipating the food as a conditioned response.

I have a Northern Puffer and I feed him 4 small krill, 3 times a day. He eats like a beast and is always looking for more. He has grown around 1/2" in length and fattened up nicely since I brought him to my tank 3 weeks ago. He was previously in a 10 gallon tank :( much happier in my 65g.
