how often should my coral shrimp shed ?

    when i got my shrimp it was like every month it was shedding now i have not seen it shed in almost two months and it is turning a brownish color any advise for me

    How are your iodine levels? I'm not sure on the specifics, but to promote proper molting iodine has to be at the correct level.

    They molt as they grow, so when there young they molt quite often, but as they get older their growth slows down so they molt less. I wouldn't be worried.

    We have had ours for almost a year and it molts monthly. beatiful red white and blue! P.S. my Bubble coral ate its last molt :) looked funny with the tenticals sticking out its mouth. Our four year old freaked and started screaming "The bubble is eating the shrimp" till i showed him where he was hiding. then he was like how did we get two daddy?

    iodine?

    i dont beleive i have tested for iodine befor its not in my marine or reef master test kits?
