How often to change Bio Pellets?

How often do you need to change bio pellets?

 

You don't need to change them, they will eventually get used up and you need to add more. I believe it is recommended every 6 months or so, but keep an eye on them as they get depleted add more.

 

ok. awesome. cause ive been contemplating using them over GFO. GFO is expensive and needs changed every month. Seems to me that it would be wiser to try the bio pellets because they last alot longer than GFO, for roughly the same price

 

Biopellets in my opinion are great and I'm glad that I tried them instead of vodka dosing. But do your research before putting them on your tank. They can lower oxygen content and ph so you have to compensate for this.

 

I did find I had a hard time keeping ph at first but after a bit I've got it figured out. Been running pellets about 2 months now and very impressed.

 

ive been doing searches on 3reef about bio pellets and reading up on them. Gonna def read some more before trying them out.
