How often to clean

    I have the Lifegard filter system with an inline mechanical filter. How often should I need to clean the screen? Within two weeks I'm noticing a lot of reduction in flow in my fluidized bed filter. It's fine once I thouroughly scrub the mechanical screen in the filter though.

    Certainly sounds like you need to do more often then every two weeks...

    Pick one day a week, like Sunday AM and do weekly.

    You may be right. I normally keep charcoal in that stage as well but if I'll be cleaning it weekly maybe I'll only use it in the chemical-only stage.
