Amphipods and Copepods. My tank has been running for just over a week and I wondered when it is recommended for me to get some. It's a 75g DT with a 20g long sump. I have 2 O Clowns in the tank with 4 little hermits a few nerite snails and I have a ball of chaeto in the fuge section of the sump. Considering ordering the pods tonight if it is something I should get. Thanx in advance.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You need not add them or order them.

They should begin to show up in greater numbers as the tank becomes established.

The come in on frags, live rock, cheato.

I didn't go with LR in the tank, I chose to use dry base rock. Also, the chaeto has been in there around a month and I have seen no signs of any life in it. Should I be waiting longer before I see any evidence?

Look at night and right in the am before the lights come on.

I have never purchased them in my life and always had more than I needed.

I bought some with my CUC from Reefcleaners, but I would not buy them seperately and pay for shipping on them. There were plenty on my Chaeto as well.

Well, I got 500 of them for $9.99 with free shipping from Reefs2Go. So, we'll see how that works out.

If you add some live phytoplankton to the tank every so often, it will help boost your pod production. However, don't use Nannachloropsis, as it has a thick cell wall that can't be digested by many organisms.
