Im going to be shutting down my set up 55, i will be taking the lifeless rocks out of my set up 34, and replacing them with the coraline and coral covered rocks from the 55.
How to i transplant the rocks without killing everything?
They are BIG rocks so i dont know how well acclimating them out of the tank will work.
    Let me know
    Thanks

I would suggest, draining the 34 as low as possible and replacing the water with water from the 55 and then just place the rock in the 34. A more difficult way would be to get several 5 gallon buckets, fill them with water from the 55 and then acclimate them with water from 34.

    +1 on 2 ideas above

Id also consider - if both tanks are mature and have basically same parameters - and neither has a problem that you dont want shared

you could set up a link between 2 tanks ( how far apart are they?) using 2 x PHs and 2 x lenght of hose to pump water between the tanks - they will then gradually equalise and then you can lift and relocate

I used this method to swap a few things around between my 2 set ups - you need to take a bucket of water out of each tank before you start just in case one pump is better than the other, with water level lowered it will be easier to see if one is filling faster that the other and you can turn off the faster pump in order other one catches up

the longer you take about this, the better

don't need to acclimate the rocks and corals, in my opinion. Test the two waters and get them as close as possible including tmp and then just add the rock and coral to the new tank!
    Goodluck!

Ummmm, why not just use the water from the 55 in the other tank??? You'll have plenty..
