No, I can't provide links. These are scholarly hard copies for veterinary and aquaculture studies.

I don't want to be a jerk, but it sounds like you are reciting this from memory and not directly quoting a book. It really helps back your case when you can provide references... you posted a book earlier, but just said it was one of your favorite books. Which book, and what does the study say verbatim? I think if you can't provide this, and you don't have at least a masters in veterinary science or marine biology, then I will have to take what you say with a grain of salt.

For all we know the temperatures in the study could be 20 degrees apart. I think the temperature we are acclimating fish to with our aquariums will be a 10 degree difference AT MOST in most cases. In fact, room temperature in my house is only 2-4 degrees difference than the tank water.

What quotes are y'all providing from scholarly books to support your opinions and posts? Only I have to provide those? Post #15. It's the book info you were asking about.

Sorry, I thought this was just a discussion where each person brought their experience to the table. I'm double sorry I don't have the time (or legal permission) to type out a 1000 page book on my netbook. O.O

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I have seen incognitos post for years on many forums. While I have never posted in response to her threads I confident that she knows of what she speaks.

There is rarely one way to do things in this hobby. Drip acclimation is just one of doing it. For those that acclimate to temp only or any other parameter they usually have been doing it long enough to see if a fish is having problems or going to have problems.

Drip acclimation greater than 30 min to 1 hour is just a waste of time and more stress to the fish imo. While some things like starfish, certain shrimps and delicate fish may require a longer acclimation, but anything over an hour seems like over kill to me.

Sorry, I really didn't mean to sound like I don't respect your point of view... you are right in saying that we aren't providing quotes from books, but you are also stating something as fact that MANY people have never heard of or even considered in this hobby EVER.

Turning the whole idea of acclimation that an entire industry has adopted on it's side in one single post will require more info backing your statement.

Sorry for being so stark in my post, but I really am interested in this study and the more information you can provide, the better! :D
