Do I add them the same way as I would add fish?

That depends on the type. A lot of coral have the ability to acclimate themselves for salinity while others do not. To be safe, I acclimate them like I do fish but add a little more to the bag water than I do for fish and only go 30-45 min.

GSP you can pretty much just float - this stuff is super hardy.

For most corals, I float (this is to bring temp to match) and add tank water to the bag every 5-10 minutes for 30 minutes. Then move the coral to the tank (while NOT getting any water from the bag into the tank).

A few corals can not be exposed to air... just don't start with these ;) and after you do a few simpler corals (like GSP) you should be ready to try the more 'difficult' transfers... which aren't really all that difficult.

When it comes to GSP, you could not float it at all, take it out, run it under some tap water, let your dog have a taste, entertain the newborn with it for a couple minutes, and put it in a tank that hasn't cycled for so much as 24 hours and the stuff would start encrusting over your other rocks the very next day.

    Toss it in!

I'd like to think it's a little bit of both... :)
