    Hi:

I'm in the just in case mode. I have a CBS and 2 Skunks in my 300. Thus far, life is peaceful. Every time I see one of the Skunks cruise by the CBS I hold my breath. To date, he has only made an "aggressive" move when 1 of the cleaners was stupid enough to check out his personal cave. I'm hoping the size of the tank will help to keep the peace. That said, if at some point CBS decides to act like the little monster that he is, just what is the best way to catch him without destroying my tank? Is there a trap that really works? I'd rather have a plan ready in advance, than have to be posting in the ASAP forum.

Those guys are real smart. Best way is to lure him with a big chunk of squid.

I would also recommend that you put the trap in the tank unbaited for a few days so that the shrimp gets used to it being there. Don't feed the tank for a few days then bait the trap when you're ready to go hunting :)

    Thx,
I've seen that trap before, I really didn't think it would work. That looks like a 5 minute build if necessary.

    So far so good.

    Thx,

    Bruce

I used that trap once to try to catch a pesky, destructive wrasse in my 90 gallon. I caught every damn thing in the tank except for that fish, shrimp and crabs included :)

My problem was that it was impossible to starve the wrasse enough to convince it to go into the trap because it was gorging itself on the polyps of my sps corals!!!
