Anyone have any tips for catching a damsel? I have tried the soda bottle trap thats not happening. It will catch firefish quite well though. He see's the net coming from 20' away.So that's out. What about a very small hook and line?Anyone tried this?

    I think....

Yesterday my husband and uncle were catching all those quick little fish. I had a plastic bag from the LFS and put it in the tank, mind you the water was loooooow. They positioned the bag in the corner with water in it and one person held the bag open while one person directed the fish over to the corner with the net. I'm sure the bag was so still that the fish didn't even know they were swimming into it!!!

Hook and line does work well, and I have done it before. The tricky part is making sure the other fish won't get to it first ;)
Other than that, tear out the rock and get in there with the net.

Telane welcome home , where you been?

size 20 hook, 1/2lb nylon mono, small piece of shrimp and patience work - move the bait when other fish get near

or if you have more time

leave your fish net in the tank 24/7 for a couple of days until they get used to its presence
feed near the net for a day or 2
feed near the net while you have hand on net for a day or 2

then feed so food drifts into net - and catch your fish

its worked for me, but requires more patience than angling does

Just generally been busy (don't want to thread hijack, and at some point someone besides me is going to suggest WMD's or a minigun or something to get rid of the Damsel and I want to be here for it!) BTW OP, I enjoyed the play on words, but watch the language in the thread titles (just tryin to help!)

    Duuuuuddddeeee...

I am about ready to smash my damsels with a towel...haha...they are being so mean to the little clown fish who is still getting used to the new enviornment. They were all living together nicely at the old house and now it's like feeding time is kill time. *#%^!* damsels.

Dude, a towel doesn't sound like a bad idea!!!
