Oh man, good luck with that! That's going to be a task. Try luring him with food and then snatch him up with a net while he's distracted. I've never tried catching a fish before....I wish you swift hands!

It took me 3 weeks to catch a mean damsel in my tank.

The feed with net and catch, is pretty tough and you only get ONE chance at it. The minute they see that net as a hostile, they're gonna avoid it for atleast a week. Honestly, i got sick of it, and ripped up my entire tank, took out ALL the rocks, and cornered it and dragged it out the hard way.

Hope it doesn't come to that to you, I suggest you try the trap with the egg crate.

I just had to do this to catch my flameback angel. It only took 5 hours to complete the entire project.

lol. i think im going to turn the lights on well after they all go to sleep and hope the shock of that gives me a few secs. i found where he hides at night i lifted up a small piece of rock and he diddnt swim away for about 5 secs so i think if i can get him before he becomes alert again im golden. THINK hard before adding a fish unlike me!

I failed several times with my clown and had to rip up my entire set up to get 2 peppermint shrimp out that were eating my corals. GOOD LUCK!

My LFS uses a clear scoop and said it's a lot better b/c the fish can't see it coming as well, plus it's less likely to hurt/damage the fish since it's lifted out in water...picture at the end of this link below.

    low budget fish trap:
I made it out of a 2 liter coke bottle .cut it near the top, right where it curves at the top.then turn it inside out so its like a funnel, tape or staple it to keep it there, then drop sum food in and wait!
