My tank has been up and running for over a month now. The water is clear but there is particals floating around in it, It's not Alge. I dont know what it is and I cant get it to settle or filter it out. How do you get the water particals out or whatever it is?

    Thanks,

Hmmm you know what i have had my 50 gal in my room, its a reef set up and have had it for about 6 years now..., ive never noticed but my water also has little particles cycling around too. But thats how my tank always has been all this time, the water is crystal clear, but little things floating around pushed by my power heads. Maybe it is just a NORMAL thing!!! ;D

I have seen copepods floating around but your tank is not matured enough unless you have live rocks from an established tank. I wouldn't worry about it much.

You can try very fine filter media or heavy skimming.

You could try a diatom filter, however if you can see the particles I would think a regular filter pad could get them. Do not use the diatom filter continuously though, only use as needed and discontinue use once the water has cleared.
