You will need to find the source of the micro bubbles. Most likely sources are skimmer and return pump.

That would depend on your set-up. Try to put all water inflows below the water line. It also helps putting your skimmer in a sump.

How about the return pump? How is the water level in the return chamber? If the level is low, the pump could suck in the air. Also do you see the bubbles in the return chamber?

turn off ALL the pumps and filtration for about 5 minutes. If the particles all float up and the water clears it's micro bubbles.

If the water stays cloudy it's particulate matter.

Filter socks work best to remove micro particles, but they foul up quickly and should be washed daily, or at least every 2-3 days.

If it's some kind of algae spore or other planktonic life and you have a reef tank you could probably add some corals and a clam - they love that stuff!

If nothing else seems to work look for a localized contaminant source - if it's an open top tank it could be dust blowing in.

It could also be that you have an over active bacterial problem.... that will usually cycle out on its own...can take days, can take months - but nothing a mechanical filter will help. Skimming might help a bit. last resort would be an antibiotic.

Have you done a few frequent partial water changes, like 15% a week? That might help as well.

    Good luck!

It's also possible your powerheads/circulation is just kicking up your substrate too. I had floating particles for a few months until my sandbed matured then settled and the water is crystal clear now.

Another very easy way to determine if they are microbubbles is turn the tank lights off and shine a flashlight through the tank. Bubbles will glow like diamonds, particles will look dull.
If it is microbubbles, that very common in a new system, I don't think my water was sparkling clear for a couple months. One day they just disappeared, I think it has a lot to do with the protein skimmer getting seasoned myself.
If its particles they will eventually disappear too as the bacteria count rises over time and they get heavier and heavier.

everything in the tank is doing good. ive only had one problem and it was with a fish that killed his self (Firefish Goby)got under a rock and i geuss he could not get out.so that would be my frist dead fish. My Green Mandarin Goby looks alittle skiny, what do the eat besides pods? the Chocolate Chip Starfish has just now starting to move around been in tank for three days now. the pom pom Xenia pules real slow and has never opened all the way, was like that at the LPS too. the snails are all over the place..
i would like some input on how to get my Green Mandarin Goby fat,he is eating ive seen him do that.

Whats in my tank now Chaeto Algae,Red Gracilaria ,5 Red Mangroves,Green Mandarin Goby, pom pom Xenia,Chocolate Chip Starfish,6 Juvenile Florida Cerith ,2 Fly Speckled Cerith,4 Florida Cerith,15 Dwarf Cerith,6 Nerite Snails,2 Nassarius Vibex , 2 packs of Reef Pods....

    Sounds like detritus then.
A mandarin is extremely hard to keep unless you have a very large system overrun with pods. Some will learn to accept frozen foods but many will not. I wish LFS were made to post a huge red sign next to their mandarins with cautions and warnings, they are a beautiful fish but rarely make it very long.
Chocolate Chip stars are predators and will eat many slower inhabitants, snails and crabs as well as small fish when they are sleeping or not moving around. They are also not safe with corals. Thats another inhabitant that should come with warnings. Looks like your LFS is doing you a disservice by not telling you the requirements of your purchases.
