What kind of light? Can you lift it up a little higher away from the water? You can also add a small fan to blow over the top of the tank.

Just saw your signature. You shouldnt have much of a heating problem with t5's. how far away are the from the water?

Yes you can run the fan in your sump. It will increase evaporation but they are very effective at cooling your tank. A lot of people use computer fans, they work great. I forgot to ask are you running a heater or is this just the normal tank temp? If it is you might need a chiller come summer.

I have a 125 gal. reef with a 50 gal. fuge since 1995 and it has always been at 81/82 degrees yr rd. A lot of the "experts" suggest this to be normal. I know my tank with sps, some lps a few softies,10 fish is doing just fine. If you use a fan on your sump be sure to have it blowing across the sump not at the water.

That temp is just fine. There is nothing to worry about. I keep my biocube 14's at that temp.

Summer is still some time off. So, to get it straight, you are not worried about your tank temp right now?

Do you have air conditioning where you live? If you do, you many not have an issue at all. ;D
