How to cycle/maintain a QT?

    Well I did it. The QT is setup and my suspect lavender mushroom colony is now in it. It may just be a placebo effect but it seems like the coral in my DT are already looking a bit happier and maybe I'm just seeing things but my nitrate reading actually seems to be affected by a water change, which hasn't been the case until now.

    The coral couldn't cause nitrates... was there a foul odor from the rock the colony is on when you had it out of the water? Also, was this a new addition?

    Ahh, I missed that thread and was assuming the corals were healthy. :oops:
