how to feed mysis chunck to tank?

    Oy...I guess I've been messing that process up. Impatient me places cube in my net, then I use scalding tapwater to melt in 8 seconds, then I do a quick rinse off with tank H20 and in the baster it goes.

    everyone says to use RO/DI or tankwater... I will not say this is wrong.


    But I don't submerge frozen foods, I just put them in a thin layer of water in a shotglass... and... that water is tap; untreated.

    then i take a spoon and scoop it out while twisting the shot glass so that I basically get all the food but let the water drain off the spoon and stay in the glass.

    I then drop it all in the tank from the spoon and pour the water down the sink.

    I do turn off my skimmer while I do this. It's a lot easier and hasn't caused me any issues...

    same here i rinse my food before it goes in the tank. no need to add more phosphates!

    I put the frozen food in my net, then put the net under the tap and wash it off. I figure I'm still getting less phosphates washing with tap water than I am by just putting the cube straight in.

    +1 i thaw mine in tank water and strain it.
