For some odd reason, I am wanting to keep a fireworm as a pet, But what do they most often hitchhike on? And how can i bait my nano reef to see if i have any? I just caught this long slender worm that isnt a fireworm and i know i have the small orange bristleworms but i want to catch a fireworm? I know, why would I want one? For some odd reason, i have suddenly found them fascinating.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Fireworms aka bristle worms are usually easy to acquire via any live rock. While some may get larger than others, I have never had difficulty acquiring the larger variety. I think they are pretty darn cool as well, too bad they get such a bad un-deserved rap.

Ironically, if you had said that the last thing you would ever want in this world would be to get a fireworm, you would have one on your next purchase. BUT, since you are actually the first person actively looking for one.....

Well, you get my point ; )

$20 for six 1" long bristle worms... That's kinda spendy for things you could get from fellow feeders for next to nothing.

Just go to your LFS, ask them to grab one when they see one. Mine gave me free hitch hikers all the time.

When someone mentions fireworm, I only think of one. All the rest are just bristleworms. :)
